( Yeah, a satire. It’s a satire .. As for the Nobel Peace Prize per se, it’s not a satire. It’s a joke. )
2009 Nobel Prize for Literature was awarded to astounding genius author Joan de Blow for all the books she never wrote.
Actually, she never wrote any.
She declared today in Oslo, Norway: “I see it as an incentive, maybe I should learn the alphabet…”
She says she spoke with 2009 Nobel Peace Prize who told her he felt the same about his own award.
According to Ms. de Blow, she heard the US president mumbling: “Probably an incentive for something, don’t know what, there’s no Nobel for war? now must go back home, must send more troops…” She added: “He really looked fuzzy, but really fuzzy this poor Irish guy O’Bama, maybe because he got just a piece, a nobel piece they call it, not the same complete one I got, kind of a downer for him, probably didn’t know what to make out of it, it’s like a car with no wheels, or a cartrige with no gun, or whatever, funny…” She giggled.
Then she went on: “And you know, O’Bama said to me ‘I envy you’, he said that, he said he always wanted to write a novel, I said I wrote none, he wasn’t listening, looked really fuzzy, he said he now wanted to write a novel too, a disaster novel he said, an ‘anokular’ disaster novel, repeated it many times, I asked for the title, he grinned, he said something like ‘The Cheernobel Disaster…’ “
Then speaking about all the praise she received for her extraordinary inexistent masterpieces, Ms. de Blow said: “I’ve always felt rather aloof towards those things, you know, they call it “litters,” they make me squirk and sneeze, but I like medals, they’re ready-made, you don’t have to learn them, don’t have to earn them either, O’Bama told me the same, by the way, so truthfull that guy, it shows, yeah, anyway, these medals they sell well, beat the dollar… I think the committee understood that… They’re cool…”
Joan de Blow, who hates to walk and has always favored taking taxis and cabs, is going back home in Vancouver, Canada, for the Olympics: “I was told my gold medal was ready over there too… I find it really nice… I won’t even have to run the thing, the “morothon,” I was told – just go, get the medal… They’ll do the rest for me. They’re really kind. I’ll have to climb on the podium, though, but I was told I’d get a huge bonus for that, it’ll pay the lift I brought for the climbing of the podium…” For a moment, she had that characteristic dreamy eye of hers, then she added: “It’s probably the same committee everywhere… It’s like Gawd…” She looked really inspired.
Joan de Blow is universally considered by her peers, said an official and prestigious literary critic who insisted to remain anonymous, as one of the most charismatic contemporary author of her kind.

Update – a similar satire with a different twist has been posted May 14 2010 on Sott.net site; this time, it’s Obama who’s the author of a book never written: Satire: Leaked Reports Declares Obama’s Unwritten Novel Wins the Lost Man Booker Prize.
That being said, what follows is neither satire, nor joke, nor fiction:
“On the 8th of october, a day prior to the Nobel Committee’s decision, the US congress granted Obama a 680-billion-dollar defense authorization bill, which is slated to finance the process of military escalation…”
Neither this:
“Within hours of the decision of the Norwegian Nobel committee, Obama met with the War Council, or should we call it the “Peace Council”. This meeting had been carefully scheduled to coincide with that of the Norwegian Nobel committee…”
Other excerpt from same article by Michel Chossudovsky:
Between 40,000 to 60,000 more US and allied troops are to be sent to Afghanistan under a peacemaking banner. On the 8th of october, a day prior to the Nobel Committee’s decision, the US congress granted Obama a 680-billion-dollar defense authorization bill, which is slated to finance the process of military escalation:
“Washington and its NATO allies are planning an unprecedented increase of troops for the war in Afghanistan, even in addition to the 17,000 new American and several thousand NATO forces that have been committed to the war so far this year”.
The number, based on as yet unsubstantiated reports of what U.S. and NATO commander Stanley McChrystal and the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Michael Mullen have demanded of the White House, range from 10,000 to 45,000.
Fox News has cited figures as high as 45,000 more American soldiers and ABC News as many as 40,000. On September 15 the Christian Science Monitor wrote of “perhaps as many as 45,000.”
The similarity of the estimates indicate that a number has been agreed upon and America’s obedient media is preparing domestic audiences for the possibility of the largest escalation of foreign armed forces in Afghanistan’s history. Only seven years ago the United States had 5,000 troops in the country, but was scheduled to have 68,000 by December even before the reports of new deployments surfaced. (Rick Rozoff, U.S., NATO Poised For Most Massive War In Afghanistan’s History, Global Research, September 24, 2009)
Within hours of the decision of the Norwegian Nobel committee, Obama met with the War Council, or should we call it the “Peace Council”. This meeting had been carefully scheduled to coincide with that of the Norwegian Nobel committee.

Link to: Why does Obama get a prize whilst Bush gets shoes? (From Friends of Freedom and Justice – Bilin official site.)
Excerpt:
“Why didn’t the committee give the prize to Bush? I remember nine years ago Bush had a good speech about the establishment of a Palestinian state in the year of 2005. We saw after the speech that Sharon invaded Al Aqsa mosque, and the American army invaded Iraq. Why didn’t you give the prize to this man at that time, and he got shoes instead? This is injustice! I am so sorry Mr. Bush. You worked very hard, eight years with killing children, starting wars and supporting the occupation, and they gave the prize to another man…
” … we are still under occupation and it makes us very crazy because we see every day and night the suffering of our children, and it’s killing us. We hear in the speeches that the president talks about peace, but nothing has changed. To deserve a Nobel prize you need to work, not talk. We need the work to be done now, not tomorrow. We need our land now, not tomorrow.”
